Chumash Museum and Interpretive Center


The Chumash Indian Museum - Interpretive Center in Thousand Oaks is a historical site and living history center. The museum is dedicated to restoring and preserving an awareness of the Chumash People, their influence, and contributions. The Chumash Museum is located within the 436 acre Oakbrook Regional Park which is part of the Santa Monica Mountains. A variety of wildlife can be observed in the park, as well as Chumash historical sites. Hiking is permitted in the park except for a few restricted areas. A gift shop features traditional Chumash jewelry and other unique items. It is a great place to visit and learn about local history.
