Cold Creek Canyon Preserve and Trail

Cold Creek Canyon Preserve currently consists of more than 1,000 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains. The original 540 acres were transferred to Mountains Restoration Trust (MRT) in 1984 for the purpose of protecting the headwaters of Cold Creek, one of the few year-round streams in the Santa Monica Mountains. Cold Creek Canyon Preserve is open to the public. It has 13 waterfalls and extensive hiking and equestrian trails. Wildlife includes golden eagles, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and sometimes bobcats. Plants include a variety of trees, ferns, and wild flowers. The preserve can be entered on Stunt Road between Schueren Road and Mulholland Road, in Malibu.
