Verdugo Mountains – Verdugo Hills



The Verdugo Mountains, also referred to as the Verdugo Hills or the Verdugos, is a small mountain range located just south of the western San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County. The highest peak is Verdugo Peak which stands at 3,126 feet. The range is approximately eight miles long and nearly 3.3 miles wide. The southern part of the range forms a portion of the northeastern boundary of the San Fernando Valley. The Verdugo Mountains are separated at their southeastern end from the San Rafael Hills by the Verdugo Wash.

The Verdugos is also a designated region of Los Angeles County which includes the following areas:

La Caņada – Flintridge
La Cresenta – Montrose
Sunland – Tujunga

The Verdugos region of Los Angeles County has a population of nearly 490,000.
