Victor Valley is part of the Inland Empire which is a large metropolitan area east of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, also known as the
Southland. It is part of the
Greater Los Angeles Area and is east of the
Antelope Valley in
San Bernardino County. Victor Valley has four incorporated cities and fifteen unincorporated communities, and an estimated population just under 400,000. The largest communities are Victorville with an estimated population of 122,000,
Hesperia with a population of approximately 92,500,
Apple Valley with a population of approximately 71,500, and
Adelanto with a population of approximately 32,000. Smaller communities include
Lucerne Valley, Phelan, and Spring Valley Lake.
Victorville
Victorville, incorporated in 1962, is the largest city in the Victor Valley with a population of approximately 122,000. Victorville is bordered by Apple Valley on the west, Hesperia on the south, and Adelanto on the west.
Palmdale is about 53 miles to the west,
Lancaster is about 58 miles to the northwest, and
Downtown Los Angeles is about 85 miles to the southwest.

George Air Force Base
Southern California Logistics Airport
Southern California Logistics Airport, also known as Victorville Airport, was George Air Force Base from 1941 to 1992 when it was closed. The public airport has two runways and is located in Victorville which is in the Victor Valley region of San Bernardino County in Southern California. As a logistics airport, it is designated for military, business, and freight operations. There are no commercial passenger services except for charter flights. The airport serves all of the Victor Valley and surrounding areas and is operated by the United States Air Force. The
City of San Bernardino, which is the county seat, is approximately 45 miles to the south.
Spring Valley Lake
Spring Valley Lake is a census – designated place in the Victor Valley which is within San Bernardino County. The population is approximately 8,500. Apple Valley is to the north and east, Hesperia is to the south, and Victorville is to the south and west.
Spring Valley Lake Association
The Spring Valley Lake Association is a non-profit, homeowners association that is the governing body for Spring Valley Lake which consists of 4,213 individual lots and homes, three condominium communities, and extensive common areas. The common area amenities include a beautiful 200 acre water-ski lake with a marina and swimming beach area, a community center, three parks, fourteen fishing areas, an 18-hole golf course, and an equestrian center.
Route 66 Museum
The Route 66 Museum in Victorville, California is a great place to visit. The 4,500 square foot museum has on display fantastic historical photographs and memorabilia, a great library, and a gift store where visitors can find unique items for their friends and family. Among the items on display is a 1917 Model T Ford. Route 66 became a U.S. Highway in 1926. The museum is definitely worth visiting. Admission is free. Donations are greatly appreciated.
Mojave River Hatchery
The Mojave River Hatchery, also known as the Mojave River State Fish Hatchery, is located in Victorville which is the largest city in the Victor Valley. The facility was established in 1947 with four ponds and now has forty. The hatchery raises Rainbow Trout which are distributed to fishing lakes throughout Southern California. Self-guided tours are available most days.
Cajon Pass
The Cajon Pass is a wide mountain pass in Southern California between the San Bernardino Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains linking San Bernardino to Victor Valley.
